The Matthaei Botanical Gardens is a 300-acres garden and a 10,000+ square-foot conservatory operated by the University of Michigan. The gardens include outdoor displays and natural areas with walking trails. The Charles Baird Carillon is the third heaviest in the world, containing 55 bells, weighing from 21 pounds to 12 tons. Children will love the Domino Petting Farm. Built in 1925, this historic tribute to farming combines fun with education. Enjoy petting the animals, hayrides, feeding the ducks, demonstrations, strolling the 15-acres of pasture, or a relaxing picnic lunch.
